David Bowers. 1000 pages of information and photographs telling the history of all types of automatic musical instruments - I wonder if that's how they got the name :) Has information on player pianos, coin pianos, orchestrions, music boxes, theater organs and much more.
Player Piano Servicing and Rebuilding by Arthur A. Reblitz. Over 200 pages dealing with repair and restoration of player pianos. A very good book to have if you want to research the technical aspect of player pianos in greater detail, or even if you want to restore your own player piano.
Piano Servicing, Tuning and Rebuilding by Arthur A. Reblitz. Over 150 pages dealing with the repair, regulating, restoration and tuning of pianos. A good companion book for Player Piano Servicing and Rebuilding listed above.
Player Piano Treasury by Harvey N. Roehl. The story of the player piano as told in advertising pictures from the early part of this century; also has photographs of many restored instruments.
